Marguerite Palumbo ElspasAssistant Director of Asset Management at US Bancorp CDC
After graduating from Chelan HS and then Portland State University, I accidentally fell into my current career, and now passion, of affordable housing. I was hired by a small Oregon non-profit affordable housing developer and for 9 years was an Asset Manager overseeing various multifamily affordable housing properties across the state, learning commercial real estate, finance and housing policy. In addition, I was a property manager for families transitioning out of homelessness. The stories of the families I worked with showed me what a difference stable housing makes in people’s lives, and their ability to thrive in their communities. I was honored to help families along their path back into housing. For the past 5 years I’ve worked with US Bank Community Development Corporation in the financing realm of lending and tax credit investment for construction / rehab of affordable housing through the construction process and into long term operations. This role allowed me to work remotely, and to relocate my family (me, my husband and 3 yr old) to move back to Chelan where we’ve been happily settled for just over a year. I’m thrilled to see the great work in process to create housing opportunities in our community, and hope to contribute to the effort.
